Do you smell that opportunity? We do. $4.4 Billion dollars of opportunity to be exact – yes billion with a B! That’s how much American consumers will spend this year on St. Patrick’s Day according to the National Retail Federation. Start this spring with a little extra green in your pocket with these trends.

St. Patrick’s Day is THE Holiday for Custom Apparel

There are very few spending holidays where apparel is the primary product category that consumers will be spending money on – St. Patrick’s Day is possibly the best holiday to capitalize on this consumer behavior. Out of the 125 million Americans who plan to celebrate, 82% plan to do so wearing green apparel.

Just about every age group will be spending north of $30 on average per consumer, the highest spending average being among consumers aged 25-34 who are expected to spend $42 each

Get the Most Out of Your E-Commerce Campaigns

It goes without saying that you should be using the color green prominently in your designs. We suggest using one of our various green color options as the default garment color for your St. Patrick’s Day campaigns.

Launch ASAP: Since it will take some time to discover the best targeting and designs for your niche, the sooner you can begin marketing your ideas the better. This will give you enough time to optimize your ad delivery and create custom audiences of potential St. Patrick’s Day apparel buyers.

Don’t focus on one product: Many St. Patrick’s Day celebrations take place outside and it’s not exactly the warmest time of the year in many parts of the world. Make sure you offer hoodies and long-sleeves as options for your customers. You can even try promoting your campaigns with these items as the main product if you’re targeting colder climates.

Be discoverable in the marketplace: Consumers will be going to the Viralstyle marketplace to search and browse for St. Patrick’s Day apparel. Make sure to properly title and tag your campaigns and assign the category as Holidays > St. Patrick’s Day.

It’s not just about apparel: Although most people will be wearing green, 23% of consumers also intend to decorate their home or office. That makes for a perfect opportunity to try out a product like clocks.

Stick with the classics: Shamrocks, leprechauns and beer may seem cliché but for a holiday like St. Patrick’s day these symbols are tried and true.

Campaign cutoff dates for guaranteed delivery before St. Patrick’s Day is Wednesday, March 8th for domestic orders and Wednesday, March 1st for international orders. Feeling inspired? Launch you winning St. Patrick’s Day campaign now!
